love-lent

I’m participating in the Keeping LOVE in LENT Blog Link-Up 2014, hosted by the Catholic Bloggers Network.

We’ll be sharing different ways, tips, stories and real-life experiences that will help us focus on Lenten sacrifices, prayer and good deeds and how to carry them out with LOVE instead of a GRUMBLE.

Please scroll to the five hostesses’ contact information at the bottom of my post so that you can click over to one of them and join in if you’d like!

Our Lenten Plans

Each year, I make these lofty Lenten plans. And each year, I mostly fall short. This year, I decided to only add a small habit and to know where I would add it to our day.

Fat Tuesday – Paczki (1/4 recipe)
Ash Wednesday – Ashes at mass

Daily With Kids (during our morning prayer time)

– Welcome Risen Jesus
– Countdown calendar
– Say a station with the kids

Myself (afternoons after exercise, as part of cleaning)

– spring cleaning & purging

A Sense of the Resurrection

Holy Week

Holy Thursday

– 30 pieces of silver – Judas betrayed – take to church on Easter Sunday
– pray for an hour (garden of Gethsemane)

Good Friday

– silence from 12-3

Holy Saturday

– easy resurrection rolls (take with us to dad’s)

Your ‘only adding a small habit…’ Idea is wise. Sometimes adding too many ‘activities’ defeats the purpose of Lent. 🙂
Thank you for linking the paczki recipe!

    Have a blessed Lenten season.
