Late last year, I was sent a copy of the Magnificat Year of Faith Companion. It was apparently in huge demand because it took a long time for it to be shipped to me. The Magnificat Year of Faith Companion is a small book with a short one-page per day reflection, story, prayer, poem, meditation and more to aid you in deepening your faith.
I have used Magnificat publications in the past, both their daily and special Lenten and Advent Companions and this one is very similar though much more varied in content. I’ve found that I really like having it as a quick afternoon or evening minute with the Lord. Sometimes I learn about a biblical figure or a piece of the Catechism. Sometimes it’s a prayer , poem or reflection. It’s small so it doesn’t take long and because it covers the whole Year of Faith (which is more than a calendar year), I don’t feel bad when I miss a few days or weeks.
It’s small, inexpensive and easy to digest. Just the kind of resource I need when I think I might explode from the pressures of being a wife and mother who is on duty and on call 24/7. I don’t see anywhere selling print copies right now, but it is available on Kindle for $2.99. I would recommend it to anyone looking to deepen their faith this year but doesn’t have the time for a full on study any time soon. In fact, Lent is a great time to start since we should be making extra time for prayer anyway, right?
