Ultimate Blog Party 2013

It’s that time of year again!   Ultimate Blog Party is back and this is my 4th year participating.  I always “meet” some great new blogs every year and can’t wait to do the same this year!

I am a Catholic wife and mother to two little girls ages 5 & 2 with another little baby on the way.  We don’t find out what we are having though I suspect its another little girl.   We are slightly crunch — we breastfeed & co-sleep our babies and are (VERY) slowly working at living a more healthy lifestyle — cleaning up our beauty, cleaning, cooking, and health (with herbs and essential oils).  It’s a super slow journey so you will find both real food/clean recipes using things like coconut oil, as well as more mainstream family favorites.  We own a family business and I work about 6-8 hours a week doing marketing/writing and social media.

I’ve also recently signed up to be a Young Living Essential Oil Distributor, so if you are in the market for essential oils or have always wanted to try it, there is an essential oil of the month group on Facebook for our customers.   If you purchase the oils from me, I can add you to the group — just ask!    Here is the schedule for the remainder of the year:

  • April-Lavender
  • May-Slique
  • June-Valor
  • July-Purification
  • August-Stress Away
  • September- Peppermint
  • October-Balsam Fir 5ml
  • November-PanAway 5ml
  • December- Sacred Frankincense 5ml or Regular Frankincense 15 ml

Here on Happy Little Homemaker, I write about the top 5 priorities in a Christian woman’s life – God/Catholicism, taking care of yourself, marriage, parenting & homeschooling and everything else a woman does to manage her household — clothes, cooking, cleaning, organizing, etc.  I write about 2-4 times a week and while I try to balance it, it tends to be very intensive about taking care of yourself, your home & homeschooling.

To get an example of what you will find at Happy Little Homemaker, here are the top 10 Posts since I moved to our new server a few years ago:

  1. Making Your Own Fabric-Covered Binder – No-Sew Version!
  2. 100 Things to Do In Summer
  3. Mother’s Rule of Life Household Notebook Series
  4. Homemade Pina Coladas {Recipe}
  5. Homemade Happy Birthday Banner
  6. Free House Rules Subway Art Printable
  7. Pop-Up Camper Storage Hack {WFMW}
  8. “A Mother’s Rule of Life” Book Study Schedule
  9. Building a Household Notebook – Building Schedules
  10. Ribbon Jello

So sit down with your beverage of choice — mine would be a ice cold tart & sweet lemonade (stay tuned next week for that recipe :D) and feel free to browse around.    Let me know what you think about the navigation and blog design.  I just installed a new theme/menu structure last week.

If you like what you see and would like to guest post, I would love some posts for June, July and August so I can take an extended baby vacation.   Email me at jen (at) happylittlehomemaker (dot) com, if you are interested.

God Bless!

    Hi, Jen! Stopping by from the UBP! I’m a sligthly crunchy mama too. My girls are older but we breastfed, co-slept & cloth diapered when they were little. I’ve started incorporating coconut oil into my cooking and use it to clean/moisturize my face now too. Baby steps, right? The party banner you made is so cute! I’m looking forward to reading more. Hope you have a great week.

    Hopping over from UBP13. I started using YL oils last fall and they have been so helfpul.

    I homeschooled for 10 yrs, but now mine are all grown up. I also like to cook, craft & write. If you ever want some fun activities with your kids, stop by for our Oreo Moon Phases or our Lucky Charms Graph.

    It’s my first time visiting (I’m coming over from the Blog Party) and I’m a fan of the new blog design though I don’t know what it looked like before. I like clean, simple designs and so I really like yours. I am actually launching my new design for my site later this week and can hardly wait!

    I really enjoyed your summer to do list!

    Found you through the UBP! I suppose you could say we’re slightly crunchy too, but I think I’m more frugal than anything. 🙂

    ps. My beverage of choice is tea. And my kids are grown. It feels like Christmas morning when they come to visit.
