I’m so excited for my 3rd year participating in the Ultimate Blog Party @ 5 Minutes for Mom! If you are new here, my name is Jen and I’m a Catholic wife and mother of two little girls, ages 4 & 1. My passion is to help and encourage women with the heart of a Christian, wife and mother. I share practical information to help women with being more effective at all their jobs, ideally in proper order – God, Self, Spouse, Parent & Provider.

I am a book lover and learn by reading. As such, I love to share book reviews for both adults and children. I also share my faith, recipes, housekeeping tips, holiday celebration ideas, and homeschool fun for tots and preschoolers.

My daughter will be turning 2 the day my family drives over and I’m excited to be attending my first blog conference. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me! Woohoo! I look forward to the Ultimate Blog Party every year! My name is Jen and I am first and foremost, a Catholic Daughter, Wife & Mother of two little girls (3 years & 5 mos). I write about my journey and the ways that I serve God & my family & bring beauty to my home. Hopefully you will find resources to help you do the same in your life.

I write a LOT of book reviews (usually one or two a week) of both Catholic and general Christian fiction and non-fiction and sometimes even children’s books. I also share recipes, tips and will be starting a new series called “Simplify Your House to Simply Live” where I will share tips and secrets to keeping your house & housework simple so that you can live your life with the people who matter most. This series will start the Wednesday after Easter so be sure to subscribe (via RSS or Email) so you don’t miss it!

UBP 2010

Hello & thanks for visiting Happy Little Homemaker! Last year when I participated I was scattered among 4 different blogs and participated at my old blog Simplicity, Small & Cheap. Since then, I’ve come to the conclusion that I am NOT a frugal blogger. After a year of consolidation and discernment, I’ve decided that my blog will be dedicated to any & all aspects of my blessed vocation of love especially including aspects of my Catholic faith.

These days, things seem to primarily revolve around books. I adore reading and Lil’ Bit (my 2 y.0.) does too. For that matter, the whole family does . I like Catholic spiritual reading as well as all sorts of Christian and otherwise clean-ish fiction. I just can’t get into traditional chick lit much. Have a book recommendation or do lots of book reviews? Let me know in the comments!

Welcome to Simplicity–Small and Cheap. I’m Jen and this blog was originally started in December when we decided to pack ourselves into a small pop-up camper and open a branch of my husband’s business in The Keys. We returned about a month ago (we felt bad confining our 12 month old to such a small space when she is so active) but have decided that after living in a camper, Living SIMPLY is really what we want to do. I’m continuing the blog as I journey through my stuff.

We are selling our 2200 square foot home (mansion?) and paring down to what we really love/use thanks to CraigsList. Our ultimate goal is to buy a trailer for our camping stuff and be able to fit everything we own in it so we can move at will. We have always loved to travel and it’s not practical to do a lot of that with our daughter. Moving every so often? That seems like something we would like to do.

So welcome to my site. I don’t have a hard schedule, but I try to have a post up every other day if not daily.

Monday – Menu Plan Monday – what I’m cooking this week. With a recipe, if there is one.

Tuesday – Grocery Trip

Wednesday – whatever come to mind – right now it’s all about the purging & selling saga.

Thursday – Coupon Craziness – Walgreens & Meijer’s are my big deals right now. Boy do I miss not being in CVS country!

Friday – Frugal Friday — not all Friday’s. I think I ran out of ideas in February . I hope to be starting a series about Your Money or Your Life soon. Stay tuned!
