Non-Negotiable Prayer Time: Seven Devotions and Practices for When You Don’t Know Where To Start {CatholicMom.com}

At CatholicMom.com last, week, I wrote about a talk that a priest gave at our mother’s group a few years back.

A few years ago, my favorite priest came to speak to our mother’s group.  At the time, my prayer time was GREATLY lacking.  As in, I didn’t pray at all, unless you include Mass on Sunday’s.  He shared seven different prayers and practices that should be on our non-negotiable list.

Ever since, I strive to do all the items he suggested and when I fall off track, I go straight back to the list.  If you are feeling called to up your prayer routine, try adding one of these a week or even each month, to help build the habit.

In the World: Where To Turn When You Don’t Fit In {Catholic Mom.com}

I recently put up another column this month at CatholicMom.com.  I felt kind of naked writing it but I’m glad I did.

I don’t fit in. Never have, to be honest. Even as a child, I wanted to be in whatever club was cool that month. I’ve always wanted a group of close friends, but that’s never really happened. I’ve had groups of acquaintances and one close friend if I was lucky. Mostly, though, I’m kind of a loner, but sometimes I long for a REAL friend…

Bring Lent to Life {Book Review @ Catholic Mothers Online}

I had the opportunity to review Bring Lent to Life for Catholic Mothers Online.

I’ve got a huge list of someday items for Lent.  Why someday?  Because they just don’t work in my current life.  My children are young (4 and 1) and many activities are either over their heads or over their tolerance level.   When I read Bring Lent to Life by Kathleen M Basi, however, I was stoked to find activities that my 4 year old would get!

Fat Tuesday: How to Make Authentic Polish Paczki {Catholic Mothers Online}

Have you ever wanted to know how to make REAL paczki?

I grew up in a Polish family and every year, my grandmother made hordes of Paczki.   One day, my husband told me of how his friends would get up super early on Fat Tuesday to go the bakery and get Paczki’s.   He proudly presented his prized Paczki one day.

Offering Your Sunday Best to the Lord {Catholic Mom}

I wrote a post over at CatholicMom.com last week.

With two little kids, I feel like I never get to pay attention at mass.  I try to prepare ahead of time or read and meditate afterward, but I’m not always able to.  During those times, I take solace in the fact that I offer God my Sunday best.  In our house, our Sunday best includes dressing our best.
