Your kids request extra bedtime stories just as much as mine, don’t they? Some days I long to just put them to bed, but I know these days of snuggles & stories are fleeting. So when they ask for ‘just one more story,’ I can reach for the Candle Bedtime Bible.
Each story in the Candle Bedtime Bible is slated to last 3, 5 or 10 minutes. There are 42 stories in all, but the vast majority are 3 & 5 minutes in length. I did time several of them and found that, for whatever reason, I hit around 5 minutes (give or take a minute) on most of them. Even so, it’s nice to be able to tell at a glance which ones are shorter for those days when I’m just too tired to drag out bedtime much longer.
The Candle Bedtime Bible is not a picture book per se. While it does have illustrations (and beautiful ones at that), the pages have a whole lot of text on them. Like pages full. For anything under 5 or 6, it’s probably better used as a read-aloud while tucking in. They can peek at the picture, but not worry too much about missing them. It’s a larger-sized hardcover book that would make a nice gift.
