WFMW: Remove Grease from Clothing

So last summer I was shopping with my daughters. I had the umbrella stroller to help keep them contained. While shopping, I was hanging my purchases on the stroller handles.

You can see where this is going, right?

Well, I checked out in the midst of a meltdown and didn’t see this grease spot from the stroller until months later. It sat on my washer for another few months.

How in the world was I going to get this axel grease out of these brand new pajamas? Coke.

Yep.

To use, place your clothing in the washing machine with about 1/2L of Coke. Wash as normal in hot water.

This is what it looked like after 2 washes like described above. It’s not 100% but you can barely see it now!

Do you have a stain removal trick?

WFMW – Why I Love Rubber Gloves

How do I love thee, let me count thy ways…

  1. I don’t get cut by things breaking in the sink.
  2. I can wash the dishes in hotter water than bare skin can stand.
  3. I don’t have to touch the icky stuff in my dishwater.
  4. I don’t have to touch other icky stuff when cleaning (puke, poop, hair off the floor behind the toilet).
  5. I don’t have to stick my bare hand in slimey cold soaking water from laundry.

And those are just from the last few weeks!

What would you like your gloves to protect your hands from?

WFMW – Frugal Shipping Supplies Part II

Last week, I posted on how to get free shipping supplies.  This week, I think I’ve found THE cheapest way to buy shipping supplies (besides Swagbucks, of course):

Buy moving boxes from Home Depot! You could pay anywhere from $2-6 on a (16 x 12 x 12) shipping box from Walmart or Staples, but from Home Depot you’ll pay less than $1!

WFMW – Frugal Shipping Supplies Part I

Everyone knows that buying new mailing supplies to ship things can get expensive quick.

Here is my tip for getting frugal shipping supplies–

Save what you get!

I have bubble padded mailers, a handful of useful sized boxes (broken down to save room) AND bubble wrap saved in a corner of a closet.   The only other thing I need is packing tape!

If you don’t have the right size box handy, go to GFS or another store and see if you can get some from them.  They usually just get recycled & reuse is better.  I tend to see most stocking done on Monday’s & Thursdays (to replenish from & prepare for weekend shoppers).
