This week, I am participating in a link party over at Reading to Know. She wanted to know about her readers — and I’d like to know about you, too!

Here are the questions if you’d like to play along —

1. Do you attend church and, if so, what denomination are you a part of?
2. What social issue are you the most passionate about?
3. Do you home school/use the public system or enroll your kids in private school? Any particular reason why?
4. How long have you been married? How many kids do you have, or want to have? Have you ever thought of adopting, or have you?
5. What is your greatest personality strength? Weakest?
6. What is your favorite Bible verse or passage? Why?
7. What is your real name? What does it mean? (Sometimes I don’t know your real name. Just a screen name. Sometimes that’s intentional and if so, that’s perfectly fine! I totally get issues surrounding online security. But if it’s just an oversight that I don’t know your real name, would you mind telling me what it is?!)

4. Are you a foodie? What makes you love food so?
5. If you were to write a book, what genre would it be? (Let’s throw in a book question!)
6. What is your favorite thing about where you live (country, neighborhood, etc.)? Least?
7. What is your idea of the perfect day?

Anyway, on to the show!

1. Do you attend church and, if so, what denomination are you a part of?

Yes, every Sunday — I am Catholic.  It’s required and if you miss it without a good reason, you have to go to confession and cannot receive Eucharist.   Very important.
2. What social issue are you the most passionate about?

Abortion.

3. Do you home school/use the public system or enroll your kids in private school? Any particular reason why?

Homeschool.   We almost enrolled her in the local Catholic school, but it just didn’t feel right.   We want to be able to teach her OUR values, not have to undo all the damage that is done while she is gone most of the day.

4. How long have you been married? How many kids do you have, or want to have? Have you ever thought of adopting, or have you?

We have been married 11 years last month.  We have 2 girls, 2 angels and 1 on the way.   No idea how many we will have but we are kind of limited by age and the fact that I can only seem to have them about 3 years apart.

5. What is your greatest personality strength? Weakest?

My strength is also my weakness.  I can focus fabulously.  But only on ONE thing at a time.  That doesn’t work so well when I’m doing something and I’m interrupted by a loved one.

6. What is your favorite Bible verse or passage? Why?

Philippians 4:8

New International Version (NIV)

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Jennifer – it means “fair”.   You learn something new every day!

 

FUN

1. What do you like best about your family?

That we strive to be flexible.
2. What’s your favorite color? Why?

Aqua — because it looks good on me, maybe?
3. Are you a bold and trendy dresser, or are clothes “not your thing?”

I am trendier than my wallet, closet and life circumstances allow :).  I aim for dressy casual in the fall and what ever is comfy in summer or while I have a baby.

4. Are you a foodie? What makes you love food so?

I love to cook and eat but am picky, so I’m not sure if you could call me a foodie.   I come from a large Polish family.   Food = love.

5. If you were to write a book, what genre would it be? (Let’s throw in a book question!)

Non-fiction.   A how-to of some sort.

6. What is your favorite thing about where you live (country, neighborhood, etc.)? Least?

It’s safe and we have no natural disasters and very few random critters that can kill or hurt you.  Rattlesnakes are rare, as are brown recluses & black widows.  We have no scorpions, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, or floods.    The least?   The economy sucks.   One of the worst in the country.   We own our own business here.   Oh and the snow pretty much stinks, too!

7. What is your idea of the perfect day?

Hot chocolate, a treat, a book (or a whole bookstore), and snuggling with my littles and reading to them, too.    Or writing.   But I think reading is more relaxing.

    Your perfect day sounds wonderful!

    I love what you said about undoing values taught to your children. I’m still undoing things I was taught in school. 😉

    😀 Thanks for playing along! I’m so glad you did. Loved reading through your answers and really getting to know you better.

    Given your answer to the children question, I’ll be praying for the “one on the way” in particular. My parents had four children. Only two of us are here. And I’ve had two miscarriages. (This had nothing to do with our adoption but it is part of our story!) Thank you for sharing that.

    I also did not know that if you missed church on Sunday then you have to go to confession! Is that strictly practiced?

    And I’m laughing about you being a trendier dresser than your wallet allows for! 😀 I am NOT a trendy dresser. I’m the type that has to closely look at the people around me who are and glean as much as possible.

    You own your own business! Awesome! My husband and I have been married for 7 1/2 years and have started four businesses, currently maintaining two. (But one of them quite loosely.) It’s a challenge, for sure!

    Thanks for stopping by! The church or else thing is, unfortunately, not as well followed as it should be. Technically, this is still the case and it’s a serious offense to take the body, blood, soul & divinity in a state of mortal sin. HOWEVER, if one doesn’t KNOW, then it’s not a mortal sin because to be mortal it needs intent to sin. Poor catechesis for the majority, I’m afraid :(.

    We’ve been married 11 and have been business owners for most of that. We are both business majors and really enjoy working together.

    I appreciate your prayers. We haven’t had problems since my thyroid problem was diagnosed, but I always have that thought in the back of my mind. Luckily, my intuition takes over for the most part :).
