Has your family ever held a grudge against another?   Or been on the receiving end?   Sarah Caldwell’s has.   Not only are her family and another feuding, but she is caught in the middle.   Her father pressures her into distracting a ranch hand and she ends up being captured as a result.

As time passes, she ends up falling in love with the family that was previously her enemy.  Will the families come around?  Can they make it work or is the damage of their families too great to overcome?

I liked the story of  A Heart Divided by Kathleen Morgan a lot.  It’s another of those books where I wasn’t sure that there was going to be a happily ever after.   The story is wonderfully told — there is action, suspense, struggle…  It’s enjoyable to read and is one of those stories that sucks you in–a perfect relaxing read.

There are certain things that can kill a story in hindsight and this book doesn’t have any of my main peeves.  It’s not a long book, but there was growth in the characters that was realistic.   I also like Christian books that are clean and where I don’t feel like I’m being preached at and this book fits that bill, too.

Overall, I’d say that this was a very enjoyable book for anyone who likes historical romance and/or fiction.  This would be especially those who like the history/times of the late 19th century in America or the area around the Rocky’s.   Go check it out!
