  • AND I scored a Physicians Formula Organic Wear Mascara with a coveted pink TMF sticker!    $9.99 – $9.95 MIR = $0.04!!!   I didn’t even bother going home for the coupon.   Risking $10 to save $1 just didn’t make sense to me!

  • 1 Physicians Formula Organic Wear Tinted Moisturizer + Free Mascara – $11.99 – $5/1Q = $6.99!

I had a $1/1 Q but when I paid in cosmetics and made friendly with the clerk, she traded my $1/1 Q from the paper for a $5/1Q she had in her secret stash.   Thanks, Donna!!!

Total Regular Price – $20.99

Total Sale Price – $17.79

Less Coupons – $6.00

Coupon Craziness – K-Mart $2 Super Doubles Edition

This was originally posted on another blog of mine (Simplicity –  Small & Cheap).   I consolidated all blogs to simplify my life.   – Jen 6/19/09

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a coupon craziness post. I’ve been contemplating ceasing couponing…or at least purchasing coupons in the Sunday paper. The Detroit papers have quit carrying at least the P&G inserts up here and the Record-Eagle (AKA the Retch) doesn’t have squat in them. Add to that the cessation of the EasySaver program and I’m just not using as many as I was. The two nearest Wags are both so out of my way and expire in a week and a half (or so), that I don’t find enough good deals to perpetuate them. I keep losing money and it’s just really not worth it to me. Many of the coupons I’ve used lately have been IP’s or mailed by a manufacturer. Anyway, I did get some awesome deals this week and wanted to share.

First, K-mart $2 double coupon trip #1:

  • 2 Rubbermaid Easy Find Lid 1.25 c containers – $2.24 – $1/1 (X2) = $0.24 each!
  • 2 Rubbermaid Easy Find Lid 5 c containers – $3.14 – $1/1 (X2) = $1.14 each
  • 3 packages of Pampers – $9.99 – $2/1 (x2) = $5.99 each
  • 3 packages of Bliss chocolates – $3.00 – $1/1 (x2) = $1.00 each!

I also bought a TON of summer clothes for DD for next summer and a few pants for this summer/fall as it’s really cold and she is short on them. I got 4 pr shorts, 2 pr pants, a 3-pc bikini set (I hate one-pieces–I get FULL COVERAGE bikinis for both of us), and 4 shirts for $37.75 or approximately $3-$3.50 each, which is my low end price point for NEW clothes (i.e. anything except carters and special occasion/church)

Total Regular Price – $126.84

Total Sale Price – $100.84

Less Coupons Redeemed – $13.00

Less Coupons Doubled – $13.00

Total Spent – $65.59

Savings – 48%

Then I went to the K-mart across town since they instituted a 10/txn limit this time.  I got:

  • 2 Pringles – 2/$3.00 – (2) $1/1 (x2) = FREE!
  • 1 Glad Trash Bags – $10 — no coupons…In fact, I’ve NEVER seen any for these!

I also found 2 pr pants on the clearance rack for $2.50 each and a 2 pk of shirts that I wanted but the other store didn’t have the right size, for $6.00.   Average price per piece = $2.75.

Total Regular Price – $34.02

Total Sale Price – $25.26

Less Coupons – $2.00

Less Doubling – $1.00 (they wouldn’t go lower than price, remember)

Total Paid – $22.26

Savings – 35%    They must not take into account the non-clearance regular price.  I think they were like $5.99 each originally.

And my last and most marvelous K-mart trip for diapers this AM.    I didn’t even really plan it either and it’s the only one to deserve a pic.

photo

I bought:

  • 2 Huggies Little Movers diapers – $9.99 – $2/1 IP (x2) = $5.99 each – $0.75 CGM rebate = $5.24 – $2.80 catalina* = $2.44 EACH!!!!!
  • 3 Pure & Natural diapers – $9.99 – (2) $1.50/1 Q (x2) and (1) $3.00/1 Q = $6.99 – $0.75 CGM rebate = $6.24 each – $2.80 = $3.44 EACH!!!!!
  • 1 Huggies shampoo – 3/$10 – $1/1Q = $1.34 each

**AND because I bought $50 of participating products, I got a $14 ONYO catalina for K-Mart ($14/5 pkg of diapers = $2.80 each)

I also bought some Bordeaux’s Butt-Paste b/c DD has been getting diaper rash lately and Desitin’s causes her major pain!

Total Regular Price – $65.28

Total Sale Price – $61.83

Less Coupons – $11.00

Less Doubled Coupons – $8.00

Total OOP – $42.83

Less Catalina – $14.00

Total Trip Cost – $28.83

Savings – 56%!!

Coupon Craziness #14

This was originally posted on another blog of mine (Simplicity –  Small & Cheap).   I consolidated all blogs to simplify my life.   – Jen 6/19/09

I only did one coupon stop this week as my in-laws are in town and we are going away this weekend for a graduation and a baptism.    No pics, sorry.

I just got 3 boxes of cereal.

3/$10 – a $1.50/2 IP and a $1/1 IP = $7.50 – $3 RR = $4.50/3 or $1.50 each.   Not NEAR as cool as my $0.80/box from Meijers!   But better cereal so it’s a tradeoff.

How did you do?

I also made a quick stop at Rite Aid for diapers.
