Looking for a gift for a new mom? Looking to get a little something for a new baby even though you don’t NEED anything? Or maybe just curious about the monthly box craze? Is it really worth it?
When I was expecting my third baby a few years ago, I decided to subscribe to three of the biggest monthly baby box companies for the summer — EcoCentric Mom, Bluum & Cirtus Lane. Here’s what I thought of them.
Citrus Lane – $25.00/month
Citrus Lane was my favorite of the three. It’s the only one I decided to continue past the summer. Citrus Lane boxes are put together by age and feature 3-4 quality items per box for both mom & baby. The first month featured Green Toys and a board book from Barefoot Books, among other things. Another month included a car seat/stroller toy & premium burp rag. There is typically something for mom, too.
Ecocentric Mom Baby Box – $21.00/month
EcocentricMom sent several baby boxes filled with an assortment of things. One month included a LittlePim Spanish DVD, breast milk pouches, wipes, baby food samples and some full-size organic moisturizer & eye cream that I’ve been loving! This box doesn’t include many toys but typically includes more food/supplement samples and personal care products.
Bluum Box – $24.95/month
Bluum was similar to EcocentricMom over the long haul. It includes a smaller variety of items and tended to be split evenly between mom & baby. The items it does include are full-size with fewer tiny samples than EcoCentric Mom.
Since they are all aimed at mom & baby, I wouldn’t suggest getting all 3 like I did. In 9 boxes, there was a lot of duplicate items — gripe water, blanket buddies, diaper cream, and stretch mark remover, to name a few. Citrus Lane was my favorite & I’m saving some of the toys for Christmas. If you wanted two, I would pick between EcoCentric Mom & Bluum for the other.
