This is pretty poor timing on my part since I waited until nearly Lent to post this, but I got a new Chicken Soup for the Soul book while I was on vacation — Find Your Happiness.

One of the reasons that Chicken Soup for the Soul has been so successful is that are not technically affiliated with any religion.  That being said, you will find stories that appeal to you no matter what your spiritual journey looks like. Full of Happiness is full of inspirational stories (101 to be exact), about finding your purpose, passion & joy.

The stories are divided into several themes such as, counting your blessings, overcoming adversity, giving, finding your purpose and simple pleasures.  No matter where you are in life, you can find a story that speaks to what you need.

If you are looking for some inspiration & joy in your life, check out Chicken Soup for the Soul’s Find Your Happiness: 101 Inspirational Stories about Finding Your Purpose, Passion, and Joy.

    i find it necessary to inform you of the man behind the chicken soup for the soul series and its contributors. i share with you out of charity – for souls and Truth.

    although the chicken soup for the soul series does not appear to be affiliated with any one religion, it is fact rooted in the new age. i would highly discourage any Christian, especially Catholic, from reading and/or promoting the series.

    {According to this quote from Choosing to Be Happy: “Every religion I’ve looked at has some technology— … I’ve studied all of them and found what works for me and I’ve tried to make it available to others. What works for me is a combination of disciplines: I do yoga, tai chi which is a Chinese martial art and three kinds of meditation-vipasana, transcendental and mantra (sound) meditation. If you have to pick a yoga for me, I lean towards bhakii in the sense of devotion, adoration, singing, feeling love and joy exist in my heart.”}

    Lena,

    Thank you for your email. There was something about these books that was not sitting quite right, but I couldn’t put my finger on what. After reading the article you linked to and doing some additional research, I will be discontinuing my reviews of their materials beyond those currently in my possession.

    Thank you for alerting me to the issue. I appreciate that you took the time to write!

    Jen
