Nope, my sewing list hasn’t been worked on at all.   I still haven’t gotten my sewing machine working yet.  I got the thread to stop snapping by replacing the needle (which I’ve never done), but I screwed with the tension before trying that and now I think I have to get that piece working again.

Instead I’ve been working on other pre-baby projects.  Since my last post (in August!), I’ve:

  • Ripped every CD we own & put on our hard drive.  I also got rid of all the jewel cases and put them in CD books to save space.
  • Finished the baby birth cross stitch I started for Lil’ Bit before she was born.  I needed to finish the name & birthdate and outline the duck.
  • Sorted through all the stuff in the “kids” room.   This included some purging, washing baby clothes & diapers for the new one and packing up outgrown and/or out of season clothes and getting out the new ones for Lil’ Bit.
  • Sorted, cleaned and reorganized the whole office/craft room AND closet..  Included buying better plastic storage, selling the old storage stuff on CraigsList, throwing stuff out, scanning documents, organizing, purging, and listing stuff for sale..
  • Organized 1/2 the files that needed to be dealt with on my machine.
  • Addressed (almost) all the birth announcement envelopes.  Asked people for new addresses and put with Christmas cards (announcement, x-mas cards, & pics will all go out in one envelope).
  • Bought all the Christmas gifts and supplies for this year, including Lil’ Bit’s birthday (in January).
  • Finished covering the last 3 of my 4 seasonal binders with fabric.
  • Made my Freezer List for the new baby and started cooking already!
  • Finished Lil’ Bit’s baby book…well, almost.  I have a list of pics I need to find and print up to insert.   Then I’ll be finished!
  • Scheduled a BUNCH of recipe posts to run this fall and winter, you will have everything in my go-to cookbook at that point.  Still working on beefing up the rest of the schedule for the first few months after the baby is born.

Can you say nesting :)?   What else should I be trying to do before the baby comes?

This post will be linked to Tackle-It Tuesday @ 5 Minutes for Mom.
