Pro-Life

Pro-Life Snippets

I got another email from Priests for Life Director, Fr. Frank Pavone and wanted to pass along some of the newest info I received.

First, the pro-life prayer intention for January is:

For the success of the Annual March for Life in Washington and Walk for Life in San Francisco.

Another Pro-Life Novena is starting on January 14-22, 2010: Novena of Reparation for Roe vs. Wade. You can join them at www.PrayerCampaign.org.

Become a Freedom Rider for the Unborn as Dr. Alveda King leads the pro-life freedom rides across the nation! You can participate in the rides and rallies, or can do “Freedom Ride” activities from your own home! Find out schedules and activities at www.ProLifeFreedomRides.com.

They’ve also created  wonderful new documentary. Obtained through a rarely used technique called embryoscopy, in which a video camera the size of a pen-point is inserted abdominally or cervically, this video footage has been incorporated into a 42-minute video called “The Biology of Prenatal Development,” now available from Priests for Life.   You can see segments of this imagery at Priests for Life’s special website www.Unborn.info.

Pro-Life Prayer Intentions

Juan Antonio Escalante Immaculate Conception, ...

Image via Wikipedia

Since this is the month of Mary’s Immaculate Conception, it seems especially fitting that we take a moment to pray for life.

The Priests for Life prayer intention for December:

That God may give eternal rest to the women who died from abortion.

Their national prayer campaign also has an Advent Prayer for Life for the season of Advent.

And, if the pro-life cause is dear to your heart, Fr. Pavone has written a new prayer book – Pro-Life Reflections for Every Day.   If I could get an order through on their website, I’d tell you more about it, but I’m having technical difficulties :) .  I finally got it to work!  Yippee!!!!

Anyway, in January (provided they are not still backordered),  I will be giving away copies of In the Palm of His Hand as part of annual March for Life in DC in January.  It’s not the season for me to be attending but I can at least help out some prayer warriors!

God Bless!

Pro-Life Tidbits

Sigh…I completely fell asleep on the pro-life front this year.     If you aren’t aware of it, 40 Days for Life has already started and the Life Chain has come and gone.    Mark your calendars for next September and I will try to be more on top of it next year.

I also got an email with some great pro-life events from Priests for Life last week and I thought I would share some of it.

* First, from Jan 9-16, there will be a Pro-life Catholic Radio Cruise, embarking from Miami for the Caribbean. Janet Morana, Marcus Grodi, and other well-known personalities in the Catholic media world will be joining me. We want to book our guests by the end of this month, so please see more details at  www.priestsforlife.org/activities/cruise.pdf. This sounds FABULOUS!

* This Saturday Oct 17, we begin a special novena for priests, leading up to “Priesthood Sundayâ€? on October 25. Please join the novena at www.PrayerCampaign.org. You will also see there the link to their Facebook prayer cause.

* If you are in or near New Jersey, people of all faiths worldwide will join with one voice to pray for Life and Peace at an amazing event to be held on October 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at America’s main prayer center at the Blue Army Shrine of Immaculate Heart of Mary in Washington, NJ.  For more details see the events page at www.priestsforlife.org/eventsnew.html.

* Also, Tuesday, October 20 is the Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity. Priests for Life is a co-sponsor of this national event in which people – many of them students – choose to remain silent for the entire day to bring attention to the silent victims of abortion. This event saves lives! Find out more at www.SilentDay.org.

* Invite your parish to participate in the National Night of Prayer on December 8. This is a simultaneous, annual observance to beg God for the end of abortion and the protection of our unborn brothers and sisters. The Priests for Life website will carry more details.

Lots of great efforts being put forth by Priests for Life.   I especially LOVE their booklet, In The Palm Of His Hand. It has beautiful, pro-life stations of the cross, rosary mysteries and a whole host of other pro-life prayers.  It’s a wonderful resource.

Do you know of any pro-life events?   Let us know in the comments!

Fr. Corapi calls for a Novena for the election staring TODAY!!!!

This was originally posted at another blog of mine that I have deleted.   I have combined all my blogs into this one for the sake of simplicity in my already busy life.   Jen – 6/13/09.

From his website:

“No other issue, not all other issues taken together, can constitute a proportionate reason for voting for candidates that intend to preserve and defend this holocaust of innocent human life that is abortion.

I strongly urge every one of you to make a Novena and pray the Rosary to Our Lady of Victory between October 27th and Election Day, November 4th. Pray that God’s will be done and the most innocent and utterly vulnerable of our brothers and sisters will be protected from this barbaric and grossly sinful blight on society that is abortion. No woman, and no man, has the right to choose to murder an innocent human being.”

Heckling at PP

This was originally posted at another blog of mine that I have deleted.   I have combined all my blogs into this one for the sake of simplicity in my already busy life.   Jen – 6/13/09.

I haven’t done as much as I could for the pro-life cause; I’ve only made it to PP about once a week during 40 Days for Life. I also didn’t make it to the life chain last weekend. But I’ve said more Rosaries than ever before so I guess that’s something.

Anyway, I DID make it this afternoon. We were most of the way through the Rosary and a heckler came through spouting some nonsense about thinking about what would happen to the babies after they were born. I wonder if she realized I was holding my 8 month old before she came storming through. I know exactly what happens when you have a baby. You get one of these:

That was taken about a month ago; she is our whole world.

Before I left, Lil gave me a wonderful booklet from Priests for Life that had, among other things, the Mysteries of the Rosary with Pro-Life Meditations. You can get that booklet here:

God Bless.
