Touching the Clouds is the first in a series called Alaskan Skies by Bonnie Leon.   Kate is an industrious woman who leaves her home with dreams of becoming an Alaskan bush pilot.   The story of a lone woman in a man’s world, she crosses path’s with a mysterious man living on his own.   Can Kate break through the walls around his heart?   Will fear keep her from realizing her dreams?

I would have to say that I give this book a 3.5 out of 5 stars.   Kate was an interesting character and her struggles were realistic for the situation.   It’s billed as a historical romance, but the romance was pretty toned down.  If you aren’t into super mushy romances, this is a great book for you.   She’s kind of a tomboy and I think the guy to win her heart probably wouldn’t be very flowery either :).   I loved the descriptions of the landscape, her life, and the people as well.

Overall, it was an enjoyable summer read and I would recommend it to anyone who likes untamed areas or Alaska as a setting or historical romances.

Thank you to Revell for providing this book for review!
