I don’t know if any of you are following from my old blog Simple, Small & Cheap, but I wrote about my quest for simplicity here.   If you look for the Living Simply category, you’ll find my various purges.    I’ve purged far more than the old posts show.   A lot of it has already been sold via CraigsList – $650+ worth, not including a $500 desk that my home-based business sold.

I still have all this, that will be at our yard sale starting Thursday:

Three LARGE boxes of books.   Mostly hardcover, one layer thick to be put on chairs so people can see what is there.

This pile is deceptively small looking.  It’s about 15 feet long, 3 feet wide and has miscellaneous kitchen stuff, exercise equipment, make-up (NIB), weird odds & ends, tae kwon do equipment, baby clothes, plus several cases of inventory (vaultz locking boxes) from my business.

Various Christmas decor.   All those white boxes?  Yeah, those are new, never removed from box christmas lights for my house.    Like 30 of them.   It’s two layers deep and DH will NEVER put them up for me.   I’ve had them 5 years and he always has a reason not to put them up so out they go.

All my craft stuff.   Beads, mostly floral, an old sewing basket that was WAAAY bigger than i needed it to be, ceramics, glass beads from my wedding, sewing patterns (I HATE to sew), and more misc. junk of that sort.

Table linens, towels, clothes, suitcases, purses, wallets, shoes, clothes, and office supplies by the TON!

Two more huge boxes of (mostly) books, an old step (fear not, I kept one), and  plastic storage I don’t anticipate needing.   It literally covers my massive former tv room floor with an aisle only, 3 feet deep.

So what have you done to simplify this summer?   Have you had a yard sale?   Any tips?   Let me know in the comments!

This post will be linked to Tackle-It Tuesday at 5 Minutes for Mom and Blitz-It Friday at Organized Everyday.
