I have to be honest.  I so seldom look at my stats that I really had no idea what my top posts written this year would be.  Imagine my surprise when they were mostly Catholic & religious related posts!

Best of Happy Little Homemaker 2014

Without further ado, here are the top posts from Happy Little Homemaker in 2014.

1.  Sugar Cookies for Dummies

My number one post, thanks in large part to Jessica & Lynn, was Sugar Cookies for Dummies.  This was a recent contribution to Holiday Sweets and Savory Treats blog carnival earlier this month and is my new favorite cut-out sugar cookie recipe.  It’s honestly dummy-proof and my kids are in heaven.

2.  3 Resources for Stations of the Cross with Small Children

My number 2 post, 3 Resources for Stations of the Cross with Small Children, shares 2 printables and a small, inexpensive book for exploring the Stations of the Cross with little ones.

3. 9 Quick & Easy Lent Activities for Early Elementary or Younger

I was on a roll last Lent and shared a ton of activities.  In 9 Quick & Easy Lent Activities for Early Elementary or Younger, I shared a handful of ideas for daily use as well as a handful of ideas for using when you found a moment.

4.  Printable Lent Subway Art

I was looking for some subway art for Lent and didn’t find anything I liked.  So I made one.  And gave myself some nasty malware/virus thing when downloading a font.   So use mine PDF printable and keep your computer clean :).

5.  7 Quick and East Activities for Holy Week with Small Children

In 7 Quick and East Activities for Holy Week with Small Children, I share a couple of ideas for Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday.   These are all super easy and very low prep and low time commitment.

6.  Goodbye to Survival Mode: A Life-Changing Book Review

I was on the launch team for Goodbye to Survival Mode last year and it was an excellent book for getting out of your rut.  It has 9 strategies for getting back your desire to live your best life.  This is the life you are living.  LIVE it.  Today.  Not when you have more (time, money, etc) or less (stress, young children, etc).  Now.  Today.   Great book!

7.  Add Saintly Friends the Quick & Easy Way — SaintMail Review

We adore the SaintMail packages and I’m really excited to be working with Molly in my Saint Picture Book Club posts this year.  It’s totally worth it and super low prep!  I’m all about low prep :D.

8. Devotional for Animal Lovers – Growing With Jesus

This is probably our favorite devotional from the Tommy Mommy imprint of Thomas Nelson publishers.  We are on the review team and have received several items over the last 12+ months.   This is one we are still using regularly.   It’s a really great devotional for kids.

9.  A Day in the Life 2014

This is my annual winter snapshot of a homeschool day.  In January, I was homeschooling with kids ages 6, 3 & 7 months.   Talk about crazy!

10.  Kid-Friendly DIY Washi Tape Advent Wreath

I love having an Advent Wreath, but with the Little Man crawling on top of the table despite my repeated attempts to get him to quit, I decided that fake candles were the way to go.  Thus the Kid-Friendly DIY Washi Tape Advent Wreath was born.   If you have climbers or don’t have the room for giant Advent Wreaths, try this one.

And that, in a snapshot was the best of 2014 at Happy Little Homemaker.  Thank you so much for being a reader and visiting my little online domestic church :).

If you are interested in more of the best posts at HLH, check out these previous year’s posts:

  • 2013 — some favorites include the baby clothes size charts, hashbrown casserole and more!
  • 2012 — some awesome summer resources
  • 2008-2011 — some oldies but goodies from before my blogging was “professional” looking — lots of how-to’s, but not a lot of photos.

What do you like best at Happy Little Homemaker?   Is there anything you’d like to see more (or less) of?
