Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love to read fiction even though I mostly read to learn. I enjoyed the previous Quilts of Love books so much that I requested to be a part of the next tour. Scraps of Evidence was the book I was assigned for this month.

Tess is a new detective in St. Augustine, Florida. A life-long resident, she became a detective after her best friend was murdered. After a new murder with the same clues, she and her new partner get on the case. And they fall in love. While trying to catch a killer. While visiting her aunt in the hospital, they uncover a clue that helps them solve the case.

In an effort to not spoil the story, I won’t say much more about the storyline. This book is a modern murder mystery but its not so suspenseful that it will keep you awake at night. It was good enough that I read it all in one day. It was also not super-complicated; I knew the killer near the beginning and I’m usually horrible at guessing. The romance was low-key and she painted the killer in such a way, that I think she meant for you to know so that you could enjoy unfolding the clues.

I would recommend Scraps of Evidence to romance lovers and those who like pretty clean suspense novels.
