gods princess bedtime devo giveaway

Several years ago, I reviewed God’s Little Princess Devotional Bible. Then, in my idealistic (and follower mentality, I’ll admit), I got rid of it. And then bought it again :). When the kids division of Thomas Nelson offered to send us the God’s Little Princess Bedtime Devotional, I knew my girls, 6 & 3, would love it.

While we’ve always said prayers before bed, I really like reading the days devotion to them before we pray. It’s really nice to put them to bed with their last thought being God & how much he loves them. The devotions are not numbered or dated in any way so you never feel like you are getting behind.

Each devotion is on a two page spread. A bible verse & a well-explained devotion that is 2-3 paragraphs long is on the left. On the right is a section titled Good Night Giggles & Grace, which is a fun activity that brings home the point & a little rhyming prayer.

We’ve used God’s Little Princess Bedtime Devotional every night since Christmas so we’ve gotten a good feel for how it works. I really like the illustrations & color scheme. The illustrations are small but attractive and the gentle pastels that grace each page are calming.

The giggles & grace activities? Well, I’ve been known to skip them. Mostly because they would add 5-15 minutes to an already long & dragged out bedtime routine, but also because hubby puts them to bed while I nurse the boy. He would not do them if I asked :). There are some, though, that I wouldn’t do anyway–like let them play with play-doh in bed. I’ve finally eradicated the stuff! The activities are well thought out to really sending her points home, though, so I wish I could do them.

If you are in the market for a gift, God’s Little Princess Bedtime Devotional is gift quality! Like most of the devotionals I’ve seen from Thomas Nelson, this one is a durable hardcover with a built in ribbon to mark your place. The pages are thick and intended to last through frequent use. And of course, the pink, glittery & jewel crusted cover don’t hurt either ;). Intended for girls ages 4-7, this would be a fun addition to their Easter baskets!

As usual, you can win a copy for the little princess in your life–use the widget below to enter.

Good luck!

We do baths, jammies, brush teeth, snuggle and read books, and prayers as our bedtime routine. Thanks for the giveaway!
