To close out the series on Prepping for Baby, I’m sharing a checklist of things to remember to do just AFTER the baby is born. There is quite a list of important things that need to be done and if they aren’t written down, the odds of forgetting one are pretty good in that sleep deprived haze :).
- Well-baby Visit
- Chiropractic Adjustment
- Baby blood work
- baby hearing test
- Birth Announcements (mailed)
- New Baby Photos
- Birth Announcement(s) in newspapers
- FB/twitter/blog announcement (can you tell I’m a blogger ;D)
- add to health insurance
- get social security card
- get a birth certificate
- open a savings account
- set a baptism date
And just because I couldn’t think of a better post to put it in — Have some cash on hand if you normally don’t. People will frequently offer to run to the store for you. I prefer to be able to reimburse them for whatever they might run to get for me, even if they don’t expect it.
