Post-Birth Checklist {Prepping for Baby}

prepping-for-baby copy

To close out the series on Prepping for Baby, I’m sharing a checklist of things to remember to do just AFTER the baby is born. There is quite a list of important things that need to be done and if they aren’t written down, the odds of forgetting one are pretty good in that sleep deprived haze :).

  • Well-baby Visit
  • Chiropractic Adjustment
  • Baby blood work
  • baby hearing test
  • Birth Announcements (mailed)
  • New Baby Photos
  • Birth Announcement(s) in newspapers
    • FB/twitter/blog announcement (can you tell I’m a blogger ;D)

  • add to health insurance
  • get social security card
  • get a birth certificate
  • open a savings account
  • set a baptism date

And just because I couldn’t think of a better post to put it in — Have some cash on hand if you normally don’t.  People will frequently offer to run to the store for you.   I prefer to be able to reimburse them for whatever they might run to get for me, even if they don’t expect it.

This post is part of the Prepping for Baby Series — check out the full list of posts!

What types of things do YOU do after a new baby arrives?
