I recently wrote an article about studying the state of Michigan for Glimpse of Our Life‘s state study series.

I don’t always like everything about Michigan (as I write this, it is 9 degrees with a -12 wind chill. ‘Nuff said.), but I’ve called it home for 32 years and I’ve gotten to explore a quite a bit of it over the years. If you’ve never had a chance to visit or study our great state, you will find a ton of history on our Pleasant Peninsula.

If you are interested in learning more about Michigan from someone who lives there as opposed to all the boring stuff that every book hits, you should go check it out.   There are things to study about geology, engineering, shipping, mining and even ghost towns.   Go check out the whole (LONG!) article on studying the state of Michigan.

Jen, I stumbled across your blog yesterday and was thrilled to find a fellow Catholic blogger. Today, I see you are from Michigan, and that just makes me smile…because I am too:) I grew up in the Detroit suburbs, but now I live closer to Flint. May I ask where in Michigan you are?
