books-kids-2013 copy

I have a HUGE stack of books for things to learn for/about my kids this year.  I am totally not one of those people who naturally is good at playing with my kids.   Heck, I didn’t play when I WAS a little kid — my nose was always in a book :).

Anyway, here are the resources I am using to be a better mom and homeschooler.

Family Culture

Our 24 Family Ways — I saw this book and I’m really excited to have a character study that spans all different areas.

Resources for Family Fun

Catholic Family Fun – I reviewed this and will be pulling activities out of it to do this year. (Link is to my review)

88 Great Daddy-Daughter Dates — I reviewed this and will be pulling ideas from here, too.  (Link is to my review)

21 Ways to Connect With Your Kids — I skimmed/read this last month and will be pulling ideas from here as well.

Mothering in General

How to Raise Good Catholic Children — I imagine its a classic for a reason, right?

The Sally Clarkson Collection — Not an official term, but I’ve acquired and hope to read (and WORK) them all.

My Heart is At Home — A great book that I’ve been reading for a while; I’m about 1/2 way through it.

Homeschool

A Thomas Jefferson Education — After all the school I’ve had and all the good it did me (that’s sarcasm), I’m thinking that the traditional route may not be for us.   I’m really interested to see what this book is about!

Leadership Education: The Phases of Learning — I’m expecting that we will really like the above book :).

The Thomas Jefferson Education Home Companion — Obviously :).

Educating the Whole Hearted Child — Another Clarkson family book.

So those are the books I hope to use this year to keep my kiddos and their education at the forefront of my mind this year.
