And that’s all I have to say about my healthier habit quest for this get healthy & fit Challenge.

Well, not ALL I have to say I guess. The devil was ON ME all week. Not just this but super intense hormonal nonsense, too. I’m considering getting diet devotionals again–like First Place or something.

You see, I still have an intermittent food issue.  Or maybe it’s more of an obedience problem.  My hubby is my food drill instructor.  You know, don’t eat that, are you actually hungry, would you like me to get you (insert healthy alternative here), etc.  Most of the time it’s well needed AND received.  But there are times (less frequently than before, but still) times where I just pig. Out.  Chips, pop, candy, chips, pizza, cookies, whatever sounds good.   And yes I said chips twice.

I ate it ALL this weekend.  And regretted it almost immediately.  Although that wasn’t a habit I wanted to highlight or work on, it does nevertheless have an impact on my weight loss this week.  So no new insights on that front but it will be interesting to see how/where it manifests itself again so I can try to proactively prepare a plan for avoiding it!

Exercise

Exercise was WAY under goal.  Cardio once, strength once & extra abs once.  And my strength training?  Killer!   It hurt to move for days.  I love that feeling!

Run/Cardio: 1 of 3

Strength : 1 of 2

Abs : +1

Diet

As far as my actual eating goals went, I didn’t do great but not horrible either.   I drank one more pop than goal & went out once more, but I expected the extra.  I did pretty good on the water, too.  I drank a ton of it all day–especially since hubby fixed the water on our fridge.  I no longer slave over rooms filled with ice cube trays.  <swipes brow>

While I improved my fruit & veggie intake over previous weeks, it was nothing to write home about. I had fruits everyday (instead of once or twice a week) and had veggies at least 5 times versus Two(!) on a good week. That included 3 salads! Will wonders never cease.

Fruit/Veggies:  +5 days

Juice: 0

Pop: +2 over goal

Choices over water: +1 over goal (Homemade Lemonade)

Eating Out: +1 over goal

Overall Goals

All that to say that God is good and blesses my VERY meager efforts.   I ended up losing a pound regardless of all my struggles above to end the week at 159.  I haven’t been in the 150’s in 6 years.  Woot!

Stats-

Challenge Start Weight: 160

Week Start Weight: 160

Week End Weight: 159

Total gain/loss:  -1

This week I’m aiming to be a little more on top of things.  We had new work schedule/sitter routine start last week and between that & hormones, it was just too much for me to really kill it.

Do you have any diet devotional recommendations?  I’d love to hear them!

But, you did have a victory. You said you regretted your indulgences immediately. That means you are aware of what is going into your body. Try now to focus on the feeling you will have after you eat before you eat it. It will take time to re-train yourself in this way, but it can be done. I’m pulling for you!

I know it’s hard. I had some cheating days, too. I still lost a lot, but I am a lot heavier than you, too…so it comes off faster! I’m worried I’ll regain it if I’m not strict enough….but I’m already wanting my breakfast cereal…and I’ve pretty much given that up. 1 pound is a big step in the right direction!!

I’ve not tried it, but I’ve heard great things about this course: http://www.settingcaptivesfree.com/courses/lords-table/
