Poor guy, he’s the creative one! The most creative thing is probably removing the bassinet from our room and getting new bedding so that our room was OUR room again!

For his birthday one year, I made him a pastry that’s from his native country–from scratch with no actual recipe, just knew the basic ingredients. It didn’t turn out well. 🙁

It was not an original idea… found it on Pinterest last year, but for Christmas I gave him a basket with 12 envelopes inside, one for each month. In the envelopes were 12 pre-planned, pre-paid dates. Some of the dates were really inexpensive and simple (like a picnic in the mountains) but others were more unique- like a white water rafting trip. I tried to plan things he would really enjoy, and he did really enjoyed receiving it.

On our anniversary we got all dressed up, and I blindfolded him. I took him to New Orleans to the hotel we stayed at on our wedding night, the exact same room. I got a hodge podge of his favorite meals delivered to the room and had it all set up with candles, flowers etc. He loved it!

The most creative thing I have ever done for my husband was to make him a tool (Both my father and grandfather were tool and die makers). We were scraping old linoleum off of the floor in a recently purchased home and struggling. I took a length of threaded pipe, some metal screws and a sturdy metal splitting blade and screwed them all together using some metal pipe hangers I wrapped around and anchored into the handle. I created a scraper you can use while standing up. We still have it to this day.

I am not very creative, so the most creative thing i have done for my husband is to make him hand made pizza. See i am not the cook in the family, and i am not at all a home made anything. And pizza is a running joke in our relationship since thats how we started dating, with him asking me to make him pizza.

Hmmm, I’m not that creative. LOL. I did make him a puzzle once that said “best husband ever” and gave him pieces every now and then as surprises. He eventually got to put the puzzle together. I need to do more! 🙂

I already have this book and love it. I would like to be able to give a copy to my sister to help her marriage. (That way I can keep mine!)

I planned a family party to welcome him back from a missions trip where he was gone for 2 weeks!

My husband is an avid Superman fan, so for our wedding I tastefully integrated Superman into most of it, from the Save the Date invites, the actual invitations, we exited to the Superman theme song, and the grooms cake was of course the Superman symbol. I loved that he felt apart of everything b/c a lot of time the husband gets lost in the mix when it comes to the wedding. We have been married almost 6 years now and he still talks about it and we have several people still tell us that they loved our wedding b/c it was a true reflection of us:)

Not sure it’s creative, but my husband’s favorite things that he still holds onto are the notes that I snuck into his pockets when he would go away for trips. After he finished packing, I would sneak into his luggage and put notes in the pockets of all of his pants and shorts telling him how much we loved him and how proud of him we were. He still keeps them 6 years later 🙂 I’ve also made him a 50 Reasons We Love You jar for his desk at school. He loves the written reminders of why he’s special!

Not sure this is really creative, but I believe in trying to help do things for my husband that I know he has to do but I know I can handle. I guess take one more thing off his plate.

I’m so boring. I can’t think of anything. Running his bath water after a tough day at work. Making his favorite meal or dessert. Or cranking his truck for him on really cold mornings.

I composed several long songs and sang them on a cassette tape and gave it to my husband. That dates me a bit! 🙂 I designed a cover and wrote personal notes under each song about how it fit our relationship.

The most creative thing that I have ever done for my husband, happened for his birthday. I got the christian station that I listen to online to announce his birthday. Then I read him a letter that I wrote the night before. It was instructions for what I wanted him to do . Read his b-day card, then read the other pages of the letter, and read the card again. In the letter was an explanation of his gift. I had made him a key chain. On this key chain are charms and pennies. There is a man, woman, heart, “i do” engraved, child, and “love”engraved charms on it. Also, on the pennies are the year of his birthday, my birthday, the year we met, the year we married, our child’s birthday, and this year. I explained to him that each year on this key chain is a blessing. Then explained why each year is a blessing to our family. After explaining his gift to him, (note:we had been talking about renewing our vows for almost a year, and i had found some online), i pulled out two pieces of paper and then we renewed our vows to each other in front of God. Later that night he told me that he had the best birthday ever.
