A Lilo & Stitch/Luau Birthday Party

My little girl turns 4 today at 7:28p.  We had her birthday party this past Saturday and I thought I’d share some pictures and printables, top 10-style.

1.  The cake.

Isn’t it cute?  And totally easy!  Boxed cake mix, 2 cans of frosting, blue food coloring, and 3 butterfingers bars.  She had a blast beating the bars with a soup ladle.  I should have taken a picture of THAT!

2.  Happy birthday banner.

I made it myself with items received in a review I did for mygrafico!  You can download a nameless happy birthday banner – Page 1, Page 2, Page 3, Page 4.

3.  Leis.

Everyone had one and no one took one home so I guess it’s a good thing we like the south pacific :) .

4.  Flip flops.

Originally I saw these as doorway hangers but I taped them to the door since I have little kids.  I think she’s going to want them in her room later.  You can get the files here – Page 1, Page 2, Page 3, Page 4, Page 5.

5.  Cupcake toppers.

I made these too and even put one in the cake so I didn’t have to pipe frosting!

6.  Party favors.

Totally forgot to pass these out until the end of the party which is just as well since I didn’t have enough.  I bought the bubbles at the CVS, 6 for $4.  The buckets were on clearance in Target for $0.20 each! and the beach balls came from Oriental Trading Co.

7.  Thank you stickers.

These I made too (see favors above for pic).  I put them on the bubbles & will use the rest for envelope seals for the thank you cards.   Download your copy here–I printed these on Avery 5408 labels.

8.  Cool dishes/trays

I bid on a beach basket at a church fundraiser with the party in mind.  They were perfect!

9.  Mylar balloons.

In my opinion, it’s not a birthday without Mylar balloons.  I tried to order some luau ones but everything else was out of stock and so I just canceled to order.

10.  Food.

Surprisingly, she requested homemade pizza for her birthday.   Who am I to argue?   I also had salad, chips & dip, and my step-mother brought a grape salad so I didn’t have to make mine :) .   We also had cupcakes & the cake.  I meant to serve ice cream, too, but I forgot.

What are some of your birthday traditions?
