I am one of those mom’s who can never think of something for my little one to do.   It seems like I’ve ALWAYS lived between the covers of a book and so finding things for my daughter to DO is always tough.   I’ve found a great resource in Angie @ Many Little Blessings’s new e-book Finding Education Activities in the Most Unexpected Places.   She was gracious enough to send me a copy of this e-book to review.

I have several books on stuff to do with toddlers.   They are all so involved and have laundry lists of supplies for a single project.   What I like the best about Finding Education Activities in the Most Unexpected Places is that she has activities broken up by item needed (balloons, boxes, cotton balls, lids, paper bags, etc).   All I need to do is scan to find a prop that I have, go to that section and find an activity to go with it!

Another great thing about this e-book is that they aren’t broken up into age categories.  I have such a hard time with that because girls are so different from boys and Lil Bit can be SO ahead of her age group in some areas and not so good in others.   With this, I can just pick an activity that I think she would like and not worry about she is doing compared to others!

Finding Education Activities in the Most Unexpected Places is touted as “a 58 page journey through commonly found objects in and around your home with ideas for using them for educational activities with your young child.” It truly, truly is.  Angie includes great activities for toddlers & preschoolers with easy to find, recyclable items.   Not only is this a frugal resource to buy (only $7.50!), but it’s truly a frugal resource to USE.   There is very little expense going on in any of the activities in this e-book — just good clean fun!

Some examples of skills that are worked on throughout this book are fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, gross motor skills, speech and social communication, social interactions, adaptive (daily living skills), cognitive skills, sensory stimulation, body awareness, spatial awareness, imagination, and many more.

If you are interested in purchasing a copy of this e-book for yourself or would like to find out more about it, you can visit Angie’s website – Many Little Blessings.   Until the end of this month (May 2010), you can get 20% off by using coupon code:  HLH20.

Thanks again to Angie for providing a copy of this e-book for review!
