I did some digging and it looks like the K-Mart in Marathon is doing Super Doubles this week, up to and including $2.00 coupons! Yee-haw! Now I know why people get addicted to this! Well, of course I HAD to go back so I clipped all my Sunday coupons from the Miami Herald and pulled all the $2.00 coupons from my collection that I might find at K-Mart. Also, note: K-mart does not allow overages even if you have extra to pay for. Bummer.
Anyway, this is what I got at K-Mart that had coupons.
Maybelline Mascara – $4.39 – on sale for 40% off, had a $1.00 coupon, doubled. Total price – $0.63
Suave lotion – on sale for $2.50, had a $1.50 coupon, doubled (to cost of item only) Total price – FREE!
Revlon eyelash curler – $3.79, had a $1.00 coupon, doubled. Total price – $1.79. Not my greatest deal except that I didn’t bring mine.
Almay eye liner – $4.49, with a $1.00 coupon, doubled. Total price – $2.49. Hmmm…that’s higher than I thought. Oh well. C’est la vie.
Colgate toothbrush – $2.79, on sale for $2.00, plus a $1.00 coupon, doubled. Final price – FREE!
Colgate toothpaste (4.0 oz.) – on sale for $3.00, plus a $1.50 coupon, doubled. Final price – FREE!
Ziplock gallon baggies (25 ct.) & ziplock sandwich baggies – still on sale 2/$5, $1.00/2 coupon, doubled. Final cost – $1.50 each.
2 ziplock small storage containers (3 ct.) – also still on sale for 2/$5, $1.50/2 coupon, doubled. Final cost – $1.00 each.
Pledge multi-surface cleaner – on sale for $3.50, had a $1.00 coupon, doubled. Final cost – $1.50.
2 boxes of Nutrigrain bars. On sale, 2/$5, had a $1.00/2 coupon, doubled. Final price – $1.50 each.
TOTAL ORDER
Regular item price – $52.87
Sale price – $36.91
Coupons – $11.00
Doubled – $10.50 (no overage)
Final cost – $15.41
Total savings – almost 70%!!!
I had to go back because Lil’ Bit had thrown the only free thing I knew about in advance out of the cart. I went back for a 10 pack of Bic Silky Touch razors on sale for $3.49 with a $2.00 coupon, doubled to make them FREE!!!
I also got some more stuff at my second Walgreens trip.
First, I got some Dawn. I’m usually a tried and true Joy girl, but all’s fair in pennies & couponing :). It was $2.19 but Walgreens had a store coupon to get it for $0.99. I also had a MFG coupon for $0.50 off making the final price $0.49.
Then I got two 6 Oz. Bags of chocolate covered macadamias on sale for 2/$4. The Easysaver book had a $3.00/2 coupon making these $0.50 each! Yum!
The last thing I got was two 6 oz. Cans of blue diamond almonds. Roasted & salted if you must know :). They were normally $3.79 a can, but WG had a BOGO (sort of) coupon in their flier AND I had a $0.75/2 coupon. This made them $1.47 each.
Regular price – $20.75
Sale price – $14.77
Coupons redeemed – $9.34
P.E. RR redeemed – $2.00
Total OOP – $3.43
Total trip cost – $5.43*
Total savings – around 75%!!!
This is getting totally addicting! When the paper is only $1.25 (for the Miami Herald) instead of $1.75 (for the Detroit Free Press) and they double or even triple coupons it becomes easier and more worth the effort. I imagine in areas with Walmart’s or where the prices are less you can do even better.
*again didn’t want to double dip on the RR. I count them when earned.
