I’ve been pondering this for several weeks now and it came to a peak last week.   I was wearing a fairly moderate business suit — no cleavage but skirt came down to just above the knees.   Add to this moderate suit, 4 inch black knee-high microfiber boots.   Grand total of skin showing?   6-9 inches around the knee.   Sexy?   You bet, if you asked my husband and truth be told, I felt pretty damn foxy in it.     I got TONS of comments at work.    I was told I looked cute and svelt and that I “looked nice today.”

But it would definitely be sexy to most objective observers.   So I asked two women, friends/acquaintences of DH & I, do they tell other women they look CUTE when it’s really that they look sexy or do they actually SAY sexy?    The consensus (men included) was that it depended upon how well you know the person in question.

I’ve just been stunned that little girls (11-15) walk around in sexy little outfits and their mothers declare to the fathers, “oh but they’re so CUTE.”  These are outfits that I, 5 years married, have just recently been allowed to wear again by DH.   I wore them when I met him and he declared them trashy–short shorts, mini skirts (though they weren’t big when I met him, I did have a few dresses that were just as short), halter tops (can you say cleavage?), tiny tees, bare midriffs, tank tops, etc.

So have the lines between sexy & cute been blurred?
